ACTIA connects ground-breaking Swedish electric scooter

The Swedish-developed electric scooter STILRIDE SUS1 has received attention for its innovative manufacturing technology STILFOLD. STILRIDE now reveals that SUS1 will also have an advanced, connected inside when launched. The onboard CPU, ACU6, has been developed by ACTIA in Sweden and is also used in some of the world's leading super sports cars.

Already at launch, SUS1 will have many features that are possible thanks to ACU6. Opportunities are opened up for, for example, theft protection and remote locking, geographical positioning, service diagnostics and battery status control via STILRIDE's app. It was mainly the opportunity to develop new functions over time, update SUS1 wirelessly and that the hardware is thoroughly developed and certified that made STILRIDE choose ACTIA and ACU6.

– The system is based on a central TCU (Telematics control unit) that makes SUS1 fully connected wherever you are in the world. ACTIA has a proven system with an integrated SDK (Software Development Kit) that has allowed us to develop our own system platform for operation and control of connected electric vehicles. This way, we could reduce the number of internal components and create a more efficient and versatile system. Because ACU6 can be updated online, we can develop and offer new functionality continuously for everyone who owns a SUS1. We can also collect data to optimize the driving experience based on how you use your scooter. ACU6 is a powerful system that is found in several premium and super sports cars today. To have the same computer power and opportunities in an electric scooter is unique, says Mattias Johansson, product director at STILRIDE.

A system that evolves

ACU6 is a system based around a central control unit for connecting for example vehicles and technical equipment. It enables features such as remote locking, diagnostics, e-call and anti-theft protection. The ACU6 platform also consists of an ecosystem of services that enables STILRIDE to be connected worldwide.

- With ACU6, there are few limits to what can be developed, and where in the world the vehicle can be connected, thanks to our integrated global e-sim. Our TCU also enables custom-written software for the vehicle. STILRIDE has created an optimized system for SUS1, which can evolve throughout its lifecycle, says Olle Wärn, key account manager at ACTIA.

Increased sustainability

Minimal climate footprint has been an important driving force in the development of SUS1, for example in the innovative manufacturing technology STILFOLD. The technology is based on origami-like folding of steel plates, which allows lighter construction and reduced material consumption. For STILRIDE, ACU6 is the key to enabling even more sustainable use of SUS1.

- We will be able to analyze how each SUS1 runs and optimize battery performance, prevent problems, offer more energy-efficient driving modes and much more. The system also provides the opportunity to offer remote service diagnostics and to develop smart functions that prevent accidents. Our goal is for SUS1 to last longer and feel like a modern and sustainable choice throughout your ownership, Mattias Johansson concludes.
